Oscar Montero is an independent researcher, translator and writer from Cuba, now living in New York. Montero is the author of  Azares de lo cubano, Erotismo y representación en Julián del Casal, José Martí. An Introduction, The Name Game, on the work of Severo Sarduy, and translator of Sylvia Molloy’s Signs of Borges. His play Las rutas de Julia de Burgos was presented at Lehman Stages in February 2014. He has been professor at Lehman College, The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and visiting professor at Emory, Columbia, Princeton, and the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He has also published Bobby's Cuba. Prelude to a Revolution, the first-person narrative of an octogenarian Cuban exile. Bobby recalls fragments of Cuban history passed down in his family as well as political and cultural events leading up to the Revolution of 1959.
